Getting to St. Petersburg:

By bus:
There are discount bus companies like Eurolines (click on 'Adresses' on their website in order to see your national partner company) in many countries, offering good values (and 10% rebates for anyone under 26!), although the rides tend to be rather long if your depart from Western Europe. A good tip from some people who've already booked: Try to get a cheap flight with Ryanair, easyjet or the like to Tallin  or alternatively to Riga or Helsinki and then take the cheap busses form there. That tends to land you at around 100 Euro for the entire trip and only takes half a day or so of travel. More info at WaytoRussia

By train:
Contact your national train company for information on discount train tickets to St. Petersburg. Train rides tend to be more expensive than the busses, but maybe you can find a cheap deal somewhere. More info at WaytoRussia

By plane:
St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport (LED) is located close to the city and can be reached easily. Many carriers fly there (although no rock-bottom cheap companies like Ryanair, easyjet, etc.), so check out the usual cheap airline deals (expedia, etc.). Alternatively, fly to the "nearby" airports of Tallin, Riga or Helsinki (they do have cheap airlines that fly there) and catch a cheap bus from there to St. Petersburg. our tip of the month ;) Also check out cheap flights from Riga to St. Petersburg.
