Q. Do I need a visa to come to Australia?
Yes! Most of you will need a visa in your passport by the time you arrive in Australia. (The major exception is for New Zealanders.)
We expect that most of you will need a Tourist subclass 676 visa, available from your local Australian consulate.
For more information about Australia's visa requirements go to http://www.immi.gov.au/, or ask at your local consulate.
Q. What will the weather be like in Adelaide?
Like the rest of the southern hemisphere, July in Adelaide is the middle of winter. Average temperatures in July range from +10*C to +15*C during the day. Generally, it does not snow in Adelaide, but it does rain occasionally.

In response to requests, we are looking into the possiblity of a group 'surfing lesson' being made available during the conference... bring your swimmers just in case!
Q. Where should I stay?
The cost of Accomodation is included in the registration fee, and will be provided onsite at the conference venue at St Mark's College.
Q. I'm not studying medicine, can I come?
Absolutely!
Most national IPPNW affiliates allow allied health professionals like nurses and psychologists to become members. As students, we're even more inclusive. Even if you're not studying in a health-related discipline, if you're interested in nuclear disarmament and want to make a difference, you're very welcome at the conference.
Q. I'm not from the SE-Asia Pacific Region, can I come?
Absolutely!
The Conference is a great chance to highlight some of the specific issues affecting our region, but a major focus is to provide opportunities for like-minded students to get to know each other and build frendships and networks both in the region and around the world. In fact, we already have students from Europe planning to attend. So come and join us!
Q. Can I arrive a few days before the Conference, or stay a few days after?
We're currently looking into an answer for this. Check back later. (Posted 27 April)
Q. Do I need to bring anything special?
We're trying very hard to avoid saying "a positive attitude" or "a wilingness to get to know people" — it seems a bit of a cliché. But we do hope that you're looking forward to being productive and, hopefully, having a good time, too.
Social time will be factored into the programme, including possible activities that help people get to know a bit about other countries and cultures. So if there's something that you think helps explain the culture of the place you're from, perhaps you might bring it along!
