The program consists of two parts:
-
A ten-day workshop at the Al-Quds university in Jerusalem, which will focus on the following topics (see below). The lectures and training will be given by BADIL, UNRWA, UPMRC, as well as other sources, varying each year.

Introduction into current issues in Palestine and Israel
-
Situation of Palestinian refugees
-
Children and war
-
Arabic lessons
-
A social activities programme in the Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem, which will last an additional three weeks:

The mornings will be spent on medical rotations in the local health institutions.

o The afternoons will center around activities, for instance drama activities, English lessons or playing games with children at the camps (aged approx. 8-15 years).
Participant's profile
-
Be a Medical student, at the time of applying preferably should have completed 2 years of medical studies
-
Ready and able to attend for the full duration of the project
-
Interested in refugee health and working with children (experience preferred)
-
Ability to communicate and work in English.

Interest in activities beyond medical boundaries, e.g. drama and English teaching (experience preferred)
-
Capacity to raise funds for participation independently
-
Health Insurance covering your stay in Israel/Palestine.
Costs
The travel expenses will have to depend on the participants' own fundraising. Costs of accommodation and some of the local travel expenses will be covered. Most of the food will be at your own cost.

The deadline for applications for ReCap 2010 is April 18th 2010. The time of ReCap 2010 will be July 12th till August 8th.

Send in copies of the first two pages of your passport scanned by e-mail.
Don't forget that every participant will be required to take care of his own insurance. We'll get back to you and provide you with additional information as soon as possible. On April 26th you will hear if you are selected to participate.
