We would like to conduct the upcoming elections for European
Student
Representative as open and transparent as possible. This means that
every active IPPNW student in Europe should know about these
elections and the possibility to candidate. We had some questions
ont he legitimacy of Student affiliates in countries without IPPNW
physicians. This has been resolved, so that every active IPPNW
student can candidate!
In the coming days and
weeks is the time to contact us and announce your candidacy.
Please send us a short mail (directed to europe@ippnw-students.org),
briefly summing up your motivation for candidating and maybe your past
experiences. Your home city, university, semester, etc., might also be
relevant. You can also send us a picture of you (best in jpg-format).
We have set up this website for the elections of the European Student
Rep. Here, we will publish the short statements and photos of the
candidates. This way, everyone, also the people not travelling to
Beijing, will have an idea of who is up for elections. This also means
that a national representative, who is not coming to Beijing, will
still have the possibility to cast his vote: through e-mail,
directed to Richard and me before the 1st of October.
We think that a lot can be
gained by this new way of holding elections and hope that you
appreciate this added transparence and make use of the possibility of
viewing the candidates beforehand. This early introduction of the
candidates will also help us save a lot of time in Beijing, which we
can then use for more useful things, such as a discussion of the
guidelines or questions to the candidates.
OK, hoping for some
feedback and lots of candidates in the next few weeks, all the best for
now, Alex
Please note: you
do not have to come to Beijing to candidate! That is exactly
why we're looking to have all candidates set before the meeting in
Beijing.
