Telegram of the Day:

Reached Eisma today STOP Nino managed to wreck his third tire in only two days on the way STOP. Many highlights of the day today STOP. Beautiful scenery on the way STOP. And when we finished our kilometers for the day we reached the sea again STOP. Played some beachvolleyball to relax STOP. Went swimming to cool off STOP. And had delicious dinner grilling STOP. Motivation for tomorrow is high STOP. Everyone getting along and enjoying the ride so far STOP. Thanks for all the messages in the guestbook STOP. More news tomorrow STOP.

First things first... before making breakfast, Nino and Alex decided to take a quick splurge in the Baltic for some refreshment... What a great way to start the day... Followed by some of Michael's excellent scrambled eggs, what could possibly go wrong?

Well, for starters, Nino managed to flatten his tire for the third time today... In the picture, Marju and Nino fix his bike while Pauli drives past with the bus and the trailer.

Robbi and Agyeno taking out a few moments during lunch. Robbi is not only a big fan of Agyeno's extremely stylish bike wear, but also admires his ability to quickly learn German phrases like "Krass Alter" and "Auf jeden", and in turn picking up on some of the more difficult Haussa phrases like "Madala". In the meantime Josh and Tova are looking for the right way...

Ulli and Anu trying the Estonian cuisine at the lunch break near the beach while some of the others engage in a game of beach volleyball

While some choose to bask in the sun, others are joining Agyeno in his first swim in the sea...

Here's Michael, helping himself to some fresh Estonian apples and André helping with the preparation of dinner. Note the extremely cool headlights on that guy... And if the great dinner didn't help to keep the participants' spirits up, the sauna and wireless internet on the campsite they stayed at for the night surely did. Amazingly, no matter how far off the beaten track you wander in Estonia, you are sure to encounter two things, even in the most far off places: SAUNA and INTERNET access.

Hero of the day:

Benni, who was the first to outrun Nino

MEDIA COVERAGE

As of now there have been several press reports about the Baltic Bike Tour 2006 in Tallinn. Also, the participants who already resided in Tallinn ahead of the tour's start on Monday, gave a radio interview there and might have convinced a local television station to report on the start of the tour and appear for live coverage (more infos on that on Monday). For all those of you who are fluent in Estonian or Russian - here the first published articles on the Tour. No worries for all those who don't understand one of the two...more links to media coverage on the event are to follow soon.
