Target London - October 4th, 2007

While IPPNW organized a conference entitled "Nuclear Weapons - the Final Pandemic: Preventing Proliferation and Achieving Abolition" in the neraby Royal Society of Medicine, a group of around 25 medical students and young doctors took to the streets and set up a Target X-XL on Trafalgar square, which they kept going for six hours straight - informing hundreds of pedestriants on one of London's busiest squares about the health effects of nuclear weapons, the implications of Trident Renewal and the need for nuclear abolition. The crowd consisted of native Londoners, tourist groups and people hurrying off to work or back home. The students gave all them a chance to make their voice heard and send postcards to their MPs.
