THe IDPD student
wing of Punjab organised a TARGET X installation on
April 7th 2010, coinciding with the celebrations of World Health
Day.Students from the Government Medical College Amritsar and
the Governmental Dental College Amritsar participated in this event.
The
event was conducted in the centre of Amritsar city, outside the Nehru
shopping complex which is a very busy commercial place with a high
influx of people.The event helped in raising awareness among
the local community about the hazards of nuclear weapons and war.
Students got engaged in one to one conversation with the people on
this sensitive issue and also distributed text material regarding ill
effects of nuclear war in Punjabi, Hindi and English.
