IPPNW students and
young doctors at Makurdi Benue State University in Nigeria conducted
the first African Target X on International Nuclear Abolition Day this
year. IPPNW International Student Representative Ogebe Onazi said: "Africa
is becoming increasingly aware of the threat of Nuclear Weapons on the
health of man and through the 1st Target X Installation in Africa on
the Nuclear Abolition Day 2011, my continent offered their voice. Save
Africa from Nuclear Famine. Support Target X!" The intallation will
tour other African countries, the next stop being the African Regional
Meeting of IPPNW in Zambia.
