Target
Jammu - December 6th, 2010
The
Jammu and Kashmir medical students gathered on 6th December 2010 and
installed TARGET-X near Institute of Medical Sciences, Sehora, a small
town in Jammu. The message to spread was clear--ABOLISH NUKES!!!! The
mass gathering was impressive. The people were surprised to see the
medical professionals out on streets for a purpose. The students held
big banners depicting the plight of atomic bomb sufferers as well as
the fliers telling the dangers of nukes. The medical students also
explained the people about the INdian Govt policy about nukes and
various alternatives available for the country for energy
production and at the same time highlighted the efforts of IDPD
and IPPNW. The students placed a large red "X", painted at the
central square, with students standing around it. They handed out
information material and got engaged in discussions with general
public. The students made them aware of the dangers of nuclear
weapons and the possible ways of saving the mother earth via posters,
banners and fliers.
