The
Student Peace Bureau (www.studentpeacebureau.org)
is a group of high school students who care about international
politics and global issue, try to know more about specific topics and
share their knowledge with other (young) people.
We organise workshops for students or lectures, show films,
dealing with topics such as migration, the death penalty or nuclear
disarmament.
We got to know Target X through our work as an NGO at the NPT
Preparatory Committees and Review Conferences. Since 2005 we are happy
to be able to attend these conferences and plunge into the world
of
diplomacy and disarmament debates. This year too, we continue working
on our project NPT TV (www.npt-tv.net),
a webcast with interviews with NGO delegates and diplomates updated
daily to share with those who cannot attend the conference.
Target Heidelberg was also successful in spreading the word on how
important nuclear disarmament is. By putting out information sheet and
flyers and also showing impressing and horrifying pictures taken in
Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the nuclear bombardement.
