Although I had heard a lot about NWIP before, the Congress "Nuclear War and Nuclear Power" in Berlin was the first opportunity I had to actually participate in one of the famous NWIP-workshops. What struck me first was the interactivity of the workshop. Instead of listening to monotonous talks about nuclear power, all of the participants contributed their ideas and opinions, whether they were sitting together in small groups, trying to come up with ways to reach global health or whether they were trying to collectively come up with a vision of a world without nuclear arms. The small presentations which had previously been prepared by students from many different countries, neatly summed up the main points about nuclear abolition and the final feedback showed that the participants (including me) managed to gain a lot form the workshop, not only increasing our knowledge of "nuclear facts", but also expanding our view of nuclear power and nuclear arms as a whole.
