The first chance to reach out to Chinese medical students occured during the Beijing World Congress, which took place in 2004, for the first time in Asia! The students of the NWIP and the Chinese students stayed in touch, which led to participation of the Chinese student group in the North Asian IPPNW Conference in Japan and the World Congress in Helsinki. Finally, in 2007, the NWIP team had another chance to go back to Beijing and meet up with the students who had continued to form an IPPNW student group in Beijing.
