Accomodation: While in Dingle, accommodation will be provided by Dr. Fanning (inc. room and board). In Dublin, student will be hosted by other medical students if possible. Otherwise, a hostel is located beside Dr. O’Carroll’s clinic and charges 15 Euro/ night. Meal costs will vary.

Clinical training: This family medicine rotation will involve work of a General Practitioner in rural Western Ireland including house calls and clinics. The objective is to appreciate the complexities of medicine within the community and the importance of primary care.
Duration of Clinical Training: 2-4 wks.
Social Service Component: This will take place in Dublin and will be organized by Dr. Austin O'Carroll. The project will be with regards to access to medical care, particularly for refugees and homeless people in Dublin. This will involve gathering information from people and organizations as well as working in the ‘free’ clinic. Objective is to acquire research skills and appreciate the importance and lack of medical care access in Dublin.
Duration of Service Component: 2-4 wks.
Required level of Studies: Preferably entering final 2 years of medicine.
