The
International Action Network on Small Arms is a global network of civil
society organizations working to stop the proliferation and misuse of
small arms and light weapons (SALW). World attention is increasingly
focused on the humanitarian impact of these weapons, and IANSA brings
together the voices and activities of non-governmental organizations
(NGOs) and concerned individuals across the world to prevent their
deadly effects.
Small Arms Survey
The
Small Arms Survey is an independent research project based in Geneva,
Switzerland. It serves as the principal international source of public
information on all aspects of small arms, and as a resource center for
governments, policy makers, researchers, and activists.
Small Arms and Firearms Education
and Research Network
This site provides current
research regarding: 1) The impact of small arms/firearms on health and
safety on an international basis 2) National profiles which include
each country's approach to small arms/firearms regulation and efforts
to prevent misuse and proliferation and 3) Links to sources of
information
in academic, scientific and governmental publications.
Hundreds of thousands of people are
killed every year in conflict or “post-conflict” zones around the
world. The majority of the victims are civilians. Most commonly used in
wars, as well as in state repression and criminal activity, are
inexpensive small arms—NISAT combines the resources and networks of its
partner organizations to help block the spread of small arms to areas
where they are likely to be used in warfare, armed violence or
human rights abuses.
The
Handgun Epidemic Lowering Plan (HELP Network)
The
HELP Network is an international network of medical
and allied organizations dedicated to reducing firearm injuries and
deaths. To achieve this goal, HELP promotes strategies that are based
on public health research.
Centre
for Humanitarian Dialogue
The
Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue is dedicated to the promotion of
humanitarian principles, the prevention of conflict and the alleviation
of its effects through dialogue.
International
Crisis Group
The
International Crisis Group (ICG) is an independent, non-profit,
multinational organization, working through field-based analysis and
high-level advocacy to prevent and resolve deadly conflict.

Project
Ploughshares' Armed Conflicts Report thoroughly details the state of
war around the world. Going beyond the wars on the evening news, the
report describes lesser-known conflicts, as well as the issues that
surround conflict.
The Study of Armed Conflicts and
their Prevention
The
Study of Armed Conflicts and their Prevention focuses on efforts to
prevent disputes from turning violent as well as on activities to
manage and resolve disputes that have resulted in armed conflict. Data
on a wide variety of actors involved in both inter- and intrastate
conflict: multilateral organizations, ad hoc coalitions of states, bi-
and unilateral state initiatives and non-state actors, including
individuals, NGOs and international financial institutions are
collected and analyzed.
