Sponsors
In
order to
realize this
tour, we will
need a lot of
support. We
are looking
for potential
partners who
share our
belief in a
world without
nuclear
weapons and
nuclear energy
and who feel
that they want
to contribute
towards this
goal.
We can
offer
advertising
opportunities on our
t-shirts,
publications,
banners and our
homepage If
you want to
become a
sponsor of
this tour,
please don't
hesitate to contact us.
Why support
us?
The
International
Physicians for the
Prevention of
Nuclear War
(IPPNW) have been
working
to alert
policy-makers,
the media and
the general
public about
the health and
environmental
dangers of
nuclear power
and nuclear
weapons for
decades. The
catastrophic
events in
Fukushima last
March have
once again
given our
cause renewed
determination
and urgency.
As
medical
professionals
concerned not
only with the
health of our
patients, but
also global
well-being, we
are advocating a
global shift
towards nuclear
abolition, as
well as a shift
from nuclear
energy towards
renewable
sources of
energy, energy
conservation and
energy
efficiency. Our
tour is
designed to draw
attention to these
important topics.
Over the course of
ten days, thirty
young doctors and
medical students
from all over the
world will cycle
more than 500 km
from Nagasaki to
Hiroshima, meeting
with politicians;
holding press
conferences;
organizing public
demonstrations;
and connecting
with everyday
people along our
route. On this
tour, we will not
only discuss the
medical dangers
posed by the
nuclear industry
but will also
attempt to show
the Japanese
people new ways to
meet their energy
needs.
These
great people
and
organizations
have already
pledged their
support for
this tour:
