The Global Week of Action Against Gun Violence: June 15-21, 2009

Please consider an activity in your country or region to help highlight the human face of the suffering caused by small arms violence.  Need ideas?  Check out this page.

IANSA also has a small amount of funds (under $500 for each applicant) available to support members' campaigning activities, printing and translation of materials. The deadline for forms to be returned is 24 April 2009. IANSA will give priority to those events being coordinated by NGOs working together to make a larger impact within their country.

Peace through health training at the IFMSA ARM in Durban, South Africa

The African regional meeting of the International Federation of Medical Students association, was held in Durban, South Africa from 16th to 23rd of December 2008 during which the standing committee on human rights & peace held four sessions, one of which the students in attendance were enlightened on peace through health works as well as the aims & objectives of the IPPNW by Homsuk Swomen.

News - Safety 2010

Safety 2010, the 10th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion, will be held on 21st to 24th September 2010 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London, UK.

Safety 2010 will be a major international conference bringing together stakeholders in the prevention of unintentional injuries and violence from around the world to exchange information and experiences. The conference is co-sponsored by the World Health Organization and hosted by the WHO Collaborating Centre at Liverpool John Moores University, the Department of Health and the Health Protection Agency.

Further information on the event will be available shortly on the conference website and the first formal announcement will be made in January 2009. If you would like to receive email updates on the conference and notification of registration and abstract submission dates, please visit the site and register your email address.
