About the Governing BodyThe Governing Body (GB) is the decision making entity of the International IPPNW Student Movement. All issues concerning the structures of the student community or matters of great importance are brought to a vote in front of the GB. The GB consists of the National Student Representatives (NSRs) who come from all over the world. It is presided over by the two International Student Representatives (ISRs), who are elected every two years by the same body. Click here to see the current list of voting members. The Regional Student Representatives (RSR) are included in all discussions and are invited to give their opinion, but do not hold a vote. Within the GB, every National Student Chapter has one single vote, even when there is more than one representative. The discussion , as well as the voting is being done online. When there is a new topic up for vote, the voting members are informed of this through e-mail. Additionally, all topics discussed by the GB are posted online for everyone to see, including documents which could be of interest for the voting members. They then have the possibilty to submit their arguments for or against certain points. All arguments are posted in the forum and automatically forwarded to the rest of the GB. A certain period of time after the announcement of the new topic, the votes can be submitted to the GB and are automatically tallied and posted online. Once a clear majority has been established, the result of the vote is then forwarded to the voting members and stored away in the Decision Library, where everyone can view past decisions of the GB, including the arguments for and against it. If you have any questions concerning the GB or the governing of the IPPNW student movement in general, don't hesitate to contact the International Student Representatives. |
