IPPNW-Students PalestineBook Aid Project: Bridging the GapDear IPPNW friends and all of you from all over the world, We would like to inform you that Palestinian medical students need books which are not available in their library, so we would like to ask our friends from all over the world to donate books to us. We use English language only. If any one would like to donate books he can contact us at the following e-mail adresses: Mahmoud Abuissah In order to subscribe to our Mailing List, please send a mail to: book_aid-subscribe@yahoogroups.com The criteria for the distribution of the donated books are:
As i mentioned previously, we would like to secure continuity for this project and be sure that it doesn't stop, so we thought of the following process: Collection of books: Books ( they must be in English ) will be collected in both the UK and USA and then shipped to the offices of IPPNW-Germany and PSR-Egypt will contribute financially to the shipment of the books. Transfering of the books: This will be carried out by the german students going to Palestine for participating in the ReCap Project, each can carry a certain number of books with him/her, so we can avoid shipping cost of the books from Germany to Palestine. Coordination of the Project: under the supervision from Alex, the International Rep and Saada, the regional rep, Two egyptian students will be responsible of being in contact with all those involved, with the palestinians to know the needed books and with the UK and American students to know the collected books and with the Germans to arrange for the transfering fo the books into Palestine. Connection between donors and receivers: We should try to ensure that each donated books has a message from the American or the UK student sending it and is replied upon by a letter or email from the palstinian student receiving it, we are not only thinking of this project as a donations project but rather one way of building bridges between the future health care professionals in palestine and the western world through a human touch.
