January 6, New York - Preparatory Conference Meeting for the RevCon in the United Nations Headquarters in order to prepare, share experiences and build a strategy from the civil society and NGO's involved in gun violence prevention and SALW control.

January 20 - National Medical Students Meeting and Board Medical Students Elections: this meeting was held in order to design an annual plan of activities that includes fundraising, medical student s recruitment plan, national and international plans in order to represent the group in different instances. Also the first steps were taken to arrange the Regional Medical Students conference to be held in October and all the issues around this conference were discussed.

February 7th-14th - Dr. Neil Arya visited El Salvador in order to address conferences for Medical Students, Meetings with national actors involved in violence prevention and peace education as: United Nations Program of Development, Society without Violence Group, National University of El Salvador, among others.

There were also meetings with Deans from National University of El Salvador in order to begin a plan for university peace-building courses with international support of faculties from Canada lead by Dr. Arya. A conference about SALW impact on Public Health held by Dr. Arya and Dr. Crespin for the Civil Society in Guatemala was arranged by IEPADES.

February 6th-17th - Ademar Guardado visited 4 countries in Central America in order to recruit new students and spread the message of IPPNW among physicians and students in the region, and to also to promote Medical Students Congress. He met with Deans in Universities of Leon Nicaragua, Autonomy University of Nicaragua with Dr. Piura and Claudia Aragon, National University of Panama with Joel Moreno and Yaravi Ku from Columbus University and Heriberto from IMFSA Panama and other NGO's looking for support from this students. In Costa Rica he had meetings with University of Costa Rica (UCR) and members from IMFSA Costa Rica.


April - World Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion Conference in Durban South Africa: Dr Crespin attended in order to present her abstract and to have meetings with Violence Injury Prevention Alliance (VIP-Alliance) of WHO.


Week of Action Against SALW: Small Arms & Light Weapons Impact on Public Health Class for Medical Students at National University of El Salvador, a public awareness campaign held on Saturday, May 27th.

Dr. Emperatriz Crespin addressed a class for medical students at the national university of El Salvador, increasing awareness about small arms proliferation and misuse. She highlighted the impact on public health, survivors assistance and the costs and limitations for human development in the region. Efforts to incorporate Peacebulding education at the National University of El Salvador through meetings with the dean.
Classes address the Community Health Signature and increasing public awareness.

From February to May: Medical students carried out a research project on patients wounded by SALW for PAN-AMERICAN HEALTH ORGANIZATION. It will be published in English and Spanish in the beginning of 2007.

May 27-28: Meeting to Route Planning the Medical Students Regional Conference
June: Campaining for Peace collaborating with the Civil Society, police, church, the Ministry of Health and IPPNW in Tamanique, and La Libertad Department.
June July 2006: RevConf United Nations Headquarters, Dr. Crespin attended this conference in order to present her paper carried out for Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue about Survivors of Gun Violence and Policy changes.

July 2006: Teach  Vip Course: training trainers lessons for Medical Students from National University of EL SALVADOR as an extra-curricular activity.

September 2006 - IPPNW World Conference held in Helsinki, Finland. The medical students' group was represented by its current representative Ademar Guardado and Emperatriz Crespin, who were speakers on Small Arms and Light Weapons Plenary Sessions and workshops.

September 13-14 Dr. Crespin as speaker during the Pan-American Health Organization TEACH-VIP Youth First Course in El Salvador. It was presented also the Aiming for Prevention Campaign Materials and IPPNW mission of work; this conference was addressed for national organizations, governmental agencies, and others.

October 2006 - Medical Students Regional Meeting and Latin-American Conference "Peace Through Health: Latin-America on the way to Peace", held in San Salvador, El Salvador.

November 7th-9th, 2006 - Montevideo-Uruguay Clave Meeting and Parliamentary Forum

December, 2006 - TEACH-VIP Youth's first workshop carried out for the Pan-American Health Organization address to Civil Society Organizations, government representatives, and social actors in Sonsonate.
