past, such as the Overriding Trident Tour and the Nuclear Weapons
Inheritance Project.

Motivation
|
The problem with trying to get to
nuclear abolition is that the
decisions are made by politicians and beaurocrats. They're far away in
the halls of power, and nothing I do here will make a difference to how
they think... Right?
WRONG!
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens
can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Margaret
Mead.
The
more I look, the more I see this is true. I've seen it at small public
actions here in Brisbane, Australia, and I've seen on the other side of
the world (across Europe, SE Asia, South America)...
Person to person change is catalytic.
Convincing someone
that nuclear disarmament is important, and sending them off with the
knowledge of what they can do next, is empowering... and vital to
reaching critical will for change.
It's been done before. The International Treaty to abolish
landmines and cluster bombs didn't happen because the countries using
them decided it was bad..... It all began with non-goverment
organisations and peace groups - committed citizens changing the world!
I'm honoured and delighted to have the chance to advocate for this
cause... and to use my leg-power to spread the important message of
peace and nuclear disarmament!
