| Introduction |
I'm a
second-year medical student at Stanford University. I have been
involved with Physicians for Social Responsibilities (US Affiliate of
IPPNW) and Physicians for Human Rights at the local and national level.
I also participated in the Standing Committee of Human Rights &
Peace at the IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Student
Association) in 2009. I received an International Diploma in
Humanitarian Assistance in Nairobi, Kenya in 2007 before attending
medical school. I have tremendous interest in war and conflict so I
also completed online courses on Medical Peace Work.

Motivation
|
Advocating for freedom from violence is
very close to my heart. As a
future physician it comes very natural to me that we have the best
leverage to be advocates for peace. War is the antithesis of the
existence of our profession; the risk of nuclear destruction at such
undeniably massive scale should urgently calls for medical students and
health professionals mobilization around the world. The BAN Tour is a
wonderful consortium and meeting of minds around this issue. It's my
pleasure and honor to be a participant among such passionate, brilliant
global medical students. Together we can call attention to and take
actions on international nuclear arms.
