Asking myself years ago if I ever thought
I would travel by
bike for several kilometer in Europe with a huge group of people from
different parts of the world, the answer will probably be no. However,
when I ask myself why should I do that, I easily answer: Our vocation
can only be discovered taking part in new challenges. This is a
continuous and permanent process that builds our personality and role
inside the civil society.
Challenges such as the BAN Tour 2010
represent
a unique opportunity to join a group of proactive fellows which wear
the same yellow T-shirt and share the same philanthropic vision as me,
for a world more safe and less violent. Taking into account the
difficulties of a trip like this and
also the inherent sense of adventure, I am sure that, in the end,
we
will achieve another major goal of this tour: consolidate our ties of
friendship and communication and our capacity to change or improve our
environment as members of Nobel Peace Organization which aims for
a nuclear weapons free world.
This will be extremely important for the
success of Basel Conference and for IPPNW future too.
